The Three C’s have been guiding principles of Nathan Poulos’ life since his early days at Santa Clara University where in 2000, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in religious studies.After graduating from Santa Clara University Mr. Poulos accepted an invitation to study law at TheUniversity of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law. While at McGeorge Mr. Poulos interned extensively with the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California. This experience provided invaluable insight into the mind of the prosecution, and also helped to cement a lifelong dedication to criminal defense. In 2003, Mr. Poulos earned his Juris Doctorate from McGeorge.Upon passing the bar exam on his first attempt, Mr. Poulos practiced family law, first as an associate and later as a partner for a small family law firm. While practicing family law Mr. Poulos gained extensive experience in all aspects of divorce and family law matters including the division of property, child custody, support matters, mediation, negotiation, and other cooperative approaches vital to the peaceful and equitable dissolution of a marriage. While working in family law Mr. Poulos represented his first client in a criminal law case, and it was at that time that he realized his calling was in criminal defense. Mr. Poulos quickly found a job in the public defender’s office where, for the last twelve years, he has handled the entire range of criminal cases and where he consistently was asked to handle the most serious cases. From misdemeanors to capital punishment eligible cases, Mr. Poulos has successfully handled them all with Competence, Conscience, and Compassion, and he looks forward to providing youwith the same service.
